"Bays está interesada en el deseo y los impulsos con los que vivimos, pintando objetos inflables como globos y máscaras fetichistas, explorándolos metafóricamente como superficies ilusorias e idealizadas listas para la perforación. El trabajo de Bays tiene un linaje Pop y aún así es insistente en gestos pictóricos espontáneos. Sus pinturas son 'momentos suspendidos' la construcción y la mecánica de acomodo de las cosas para crear ficciones significativas y vitales. Hay una tensión entre lo abstracto y lo figurativo, lo simbólico y lo puramente formal, con una simbología privada que incluye elementos como yesos y kits para reparar perforaciones".

"Bays is interested in desire and the drives we live by, with painted inflatable objects such as the balloon and fetish mask explored metaphorically as idealized, illusory surfaces ripe for puncture. Bay's work has a Pop lineage, yet it is insistent also o spontaneous painterly gesture. Her paintings are 'suspended moments' the construction and mechanics of fitting things together to create meaningful fictions vital. There is a push and pull between the abstract and figurative, the symbolic and the purely formal, with a private symbology including elements such as plasters and puncture repair kits".
